How much do cakes from Dream Cakes cost?
Because each cake is custom designed, we do not have a standard price list. Cakes are generally priced on a "per serving" basis, and most fall in the $4 to $7 range. The complexity of design and the number of servings desired dictate the final price. Cake sculptures have a minimum price of $200. We are always happy to suggest alternative design ideas to help you achieve the look you want and still stay in budget.

I found a picture of a wedding cake that I like in a magazine. Can you duplicate it?
Every bride deserves a wedding cake that is uniquely theirs. We will work with you to incorporate any design ideas you've seen into a one-of-a-kind creation just for you.

I am getting married. How soon should I order my wedding cake?
We only accept a limited number of wedding cake orders for any given date, and our calendar fills up quickly. At least 3 to 6 months in advance is suggested, but we recommend placing a deposit on your date as soon as possible. That way, your date is held and we can work on design details at your convenience. Tiered cake orders require a 50% deposit.

What are the steps in designing my wedding cake?
The best way to start is to fill out the Contact Form found on this website. This way, we can let you know if we can accommodate your event. Next, you'll need to schedule an initial design consultation. Bring any ideas, photos and/or color swatches with you. It's usually best to schedule your consultation after you've chosen a venue and color scheme. At the initial consultation, we'll narrow down design options and possible flavor choices. Usually, a second appointment is set to accommodate a tasting, if desired, as well as to go over design details and any sketches we've done for you. Then, relax! Your cake is ordered and will be spectacular!

Do you ship your cakes and cookies?

How far away will you deliver?
We work primarily in southeast Michigan, but can arrange delivery almost anywhere. Delivery charges are based on an hourly rate plus mileage.

Do you offer tastings?
We will be happy to arrange a tasting appointment for you, with up to four flavors of cake and a variety of filling choices. There is a $25 fee for this appointment, which is applied to your total when you place an order.

How do I freeze the top tier from my wedding cake for my anniversary?
Even with careful wrapping and freezing, cake after a year is not really tasty. That is why we include a freshly baked 6" cake for your one year anniversary at no additional charge. Just give us a call 2-4 weeks ahead of your anniversary celebration.

I have an idea for a cookie favor. What shapes do you offer?
We have many, many cookie cutters in our inventory. On the off chance we don't have the shape you need, we can either order it or have it made. This takes a little extra time, so make sure you place your order well in advance.

I can't decide if I want cookie favors or a centerpiece cake for my event. Any suggestions?
Sure! Have both. Our cookie favors were designed to complement a centerpiece cake. This way, you have both a delicious dessert and an impressive treat for your guests to take home. The custom tag on the favors helps guests remember your event long after they've left.
